The Police in Delta State have arrested a man identified simply as Ogheneovo, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Ovwian, Udu council area of the state.
The suspect, 60-year-old, was reportedly arrested by a team from the Ovwian/Aladja Police Division.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly defiled the teenager in his home after enticing her with some money.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the development via telephone to newsmen, Monday.
She said, “yes, it is true. That happened in Ovwian”.
She added that the Delta State Police Command has commenced investigation on the matter.
