Gunmen have reportedly attacked Gidan Madi, Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing the town’s DPO and abducted an unknown number of women.
The Sokoto State Police Force, spokesman ASP Muhammad Sadiq confirmed the attack but has not commented on the killing of the DPO.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the police station in the middle of the night while wearing Army uniforms. The gunmen also reportedly stole weapons particularly an AK47 assault rifle.
“Police officers were sitting in the courtyard of the police station when the gunmen attacked them, killing the DPO,” said a resident.
A Resident said the gunshots what was forced to wake up in the middle of the night.
After the gunmen killed the DPO, they also entered the town of Gidan Madi, where they abducted some women, according to local residents.
