The convoy of the Zamfara State Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Honourable Abubakar Dauran on Monday, was caught in a crossfire between two bandit groups around Dogon Karfi, GidanJaji, in the Zurmi Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State which led to the killing of his driver on the spot.
Reports gathered that the Commissioner was returning from Katsina State where he had gone to hand over the 26 abducted minors rescued by Zamfara State Government to the Katsina State Government.
On Sunday, 8 November the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, reportedly secured the release of 26 girls abducted from Faskari LGA of Katsina state following negotiations with the bandits by the Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs.
