Northern Youth Consultative Forum (NYCF) has on Tuesday conferred grand patronship on the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa at his palace in Potiskum Town.
While conferring the grand patronship on the monarch, the National Coordinator, Northern Youth Consultative Forum, Comrade Ayuba Hassan explained that NYCF is a formidable organisation that was collectively formed by the Northern Youth/Stakeholders cut across the 19 northern states of the country and FCT respectively.
He said, “It is pertinent that the history of Nigeria cannot be completed without mentioning the courageous and outstanding contribution of youths before and after Independence. Youths are stakeholders in nation-building, hence we remain dogged in our repositioning and rediscovering commitment aimed at bettering the well-being of Nigerian youths and the masses for achieving a holistic and everlasting peace and economic development in our great nation”.
“After much deliberation by the congress of NYCF that held at Shehu Musa Yar’adua Center, Abuja where we discussed security issues bedeviling northern Nigeria, state of education, government policies, we have ratified your person for honour and inducement as a national grand patron, this is in recognition of your outstanding leadership performance, contributions to the youth and education sector, astute participation in good governance for the benefit of humanity and country”.
Ayuba said that the reason for the conferment on the Emir of Fika is, “he is a man of honour who has given so much to the empowerment of youths in our dear country and indisputable Nigerian flag-waver and quintessence of good leadership, whose didactic personality is the pedestal upon which the vision of our land can be realized”.
“We are not ignorant of the unblemished record and antecedent of His Royal Highness, Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa, a man who has been so friendly and have empowered the youth because he found solace in them, your unadulterated values of humility, hard work, and moral upbringing, as we ably understand that we must call for people of your kind for more development come to our nation”.
The National Coordinator assured the king that NYCF is strongly in support of him and his activities.
“We shall always stand by you. We are seeing you as one of the few remaining leaders who has found satisfaction in youth and human development, you have distinguished yourself from others by setting a pace of excellence by your activities and achievements.
“We want to keep the ball rolling as our father, role model, mentor of our generation, may your goodwill to the Youth and humanity continue, may the spirit of our ancestors continue to bless you, grant you good health, long life, and uncommon wisdom and grace needed to pilot the affairs of this organization,” he said.
Responding, the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa thanked the association for the honour.
“Thank you for finding me worthy to be appointed as the grand patron, I’m overwhelmed and pledge to stand by you in your aims and objectives of bettering the well being of the leaders of tomorrow.
‘Youths are important stakeholders in nation-building therefore, we will keep encouraging you to be good ambassadors of nation-building, unity, development, and peaceful coexistence. We assure you of our commitment and support,” the Emir assured.
