Hadejia discussion group partners Gashua varsity on education

The Hadejia Discussion Group (HDG), has called for increased synergy and partnership between Hadejia Emirate and Federal University Gashua in Yobe State.

In a statement released to newsmen by the Head of information and protocol unit, Adamu Saleh, the group, led by Hashim Ubale Yusuf, stated the desire to partner with the university in the area of education, unity and progress of the people of Hadejia, the university’s host community, and the country at large.

He said, “The foundation is made up of people who have excelled in their various fields of human endeavours and would be happy to associate with the university in the development of the university and education”.

Ubale appealed to the university’s management to consider the establishment of a school of preliminary studies in Hadejia.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, thanked the delegation for the visit and also pledged to partner with the emirate on areas that will be beneficial to the emirate and the country at large.

Similarly, the Provost, Umar Sulaiman College of Education, Dr Muhammad Gishiwa, congratulated Professor Maimuna Waziri, on her appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Gashua and urged her to carry everybody along to take the University to greater heights.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Gishiwa said their visit to the university is to partner with the university in the development of the two institutions, the state and the country at large.

“You should stay firm in discharging your duties and responsibilities and get ready to face many challenges that might emerge as a result of working in the community you belong to.”

In her remarks, Professor Maimuna reiterated her stand of uplifting the university and appealed for cooperation with the College in helping her realise her long term dream of taking Federal University Gashua to greater heights.
