Shooting was heard at the headquarters of the Theatre Command in Borno State, Maimalari Barracks Thursday night.

They referred to the non-payment of allowances and poor equipment as reasons for their display.

The soldiers complained bitterly when they recalled how a whole unit went for reinforcement when Marte was captured and perished under the superior firepower of the enemies forces.

The Media Coordinator for Operation LAFIYADOLE, Colonel Ado Isa, when contacted via a text message, confirmed that there was a minor issue involving troops’ welfare and admin issues which were quickly addressed.

However, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, the Director, Army Public Relations, is yet to respond to a WhatsApp message sent seeking an explanation.

National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, in a report with Channels news, stated that both the outgoing and incoming service chiefs said they are in the dark on the whereabouts of the funds or equipment, he also mentioned that no less than ₦1 billion was released for the procurement.

“No one knows what happened to the money, but by God’s grace, the president will investigate to find out where it went or where the goods went,” the General reportedly said in Hausa.
