In recorgnition of his contributions to the health sector in the state, Yobe Voice and Accountability Mechanism (YoVAM), a Non-Governmental Organisation conferred His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bade and Deputy Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Abubakar Sulayman with its Patronship title.
The YoVAM team was led to the ancient Emir’s Palace in Gashua by the YoVAM Co-Chair (Government), Bala Sule who presented the letter of appointment to the paramount traditional ruler.
He informed the Emir about the concept of YoVAM in Yobe State and what it stands for to benefit the Community.
Kaku commended the Royal Father for his contributions to the well-being of his subjects.
Speaking on Human Capital Development (HCD), Mohammed Annur of the State Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) informed the Emir about the introduction of HCD in Yobe State “His Royal Highness may wish to know that Human Capital Development Focal Person has been appointed by the Yobe State Ministry of Finance.
The concept of HCD is to give the state citizens better health, education, and skills or employment to be responsible and productive citizens in the society”.
Responding, the Emir of Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Sulayman, assured his continued support and commitment to the implementation of the HCD programme in the state.
“I assure you of our support and cooperation, our doors are always open for you to come and present issues for the benefit of our people”.
According to him, transparency and accountability are paramount to the development of any society.
He urged contractors and people to always execute projects with quality and durable building materials that would last longer.
Earlier speaking, Hassan Kubes, Secretary YoVAM said that “YoVAM ensures Government commitments are followed-up with political will and action that is why it is working with civil society actors, media and governments in supported states to implement programmes”.
He also said, “YoVAM provide independent expertise, a collation of voices on issues, as well as facilitating linkages with other government structures to encourage and improve cross-government coordination”.
