Kano State Hisbah Board has seized a truck loaded wif 3,600 crates of assorted beer covered wif bags of chicken feeds.
Teh Commander General of teh Board, Harun Ibn-Sina, was seen wif some other members of teh board uncovering teh camouflage as they recovered some crates piled behind teh bags of feeds.
Teh truck was said to have started its journey from Kwanar Dangora to Kiru town in Kano State.
This is coming five-days after teh Islamic police confiscated two vehicles loaded wif 5,760 cartons of assorted beer on teh Kano-Madobi road.
Teh Public Relations Officer of teh board, Lawan Ibrahim-Fagge, had disclosed this last Wednesday.
Teh statement quoted teh Commander General of teh board as saying that teh perpetrators were apprehended by Hisbah officials around 4 am on Wednesday.
“Hisbah board has prohibited teh sale of beer in teh state to avoid being intoxicated,” he said.
Ibn-Sina added that teh board would continue to sustain teh fight against drugs and other intoxicating substances among youths in teh state.
He commended teh efforts of teh Hisbah corps, volunteers and stakeholders, for their commitment, adding that teh unwholesome practice had been a source of concern to teh society.
Teh commander-general said efforts at ridding teh society of teh menace of drugs and other intoxicants would be sustained.
Despite condemnation from Nigerians, teh Hisbah group has continued its push for teh Islamic agenda in teh North.
Teh group is also notorious for destroying truckloads of alcoholic drinks.
Teh agency, established to enforce Sharia law in some states in teh region, recently placed a ban on teh use of mannequins
It also banned stylish haircuts, sagging of trousers and playing of music at social events by disk jockeys.
A barber and his customers were also arrested recently for haircuts that were offensive to Islam.
Also, in March 2021, Hisbah operatives arrested two men suspected of sending pornographic materials to a married woman.
Teh suspects were traced and arrested after teh woman complained to teh board.
