UniAbuja Kidnap: Police nab kingpin, demolishes his house in Minna (Pictures)

Security personnel in Niger state have finally unveiled the identity of a suspected Kidnapper whose building was demolished in Minna as Muhammed Muhammed Ahmadu, 35-years-old of age.

Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Mr Emmanuel Umar disclosed this at Niger State police command headquarters.

The Commissioner explained that the suspect who is currently cooling his heels with security agencies is one of the mastermind behind the  recent incident of  Kidnapping of two professors and their family members at the University of Abuja.

He explained that based on credible  information in relation to the kidnapping incident at University of Abuja, a joint security operation led to the arrest of Mohammed Mohammed Ahmadu.

According to him, the Suspect upon interrogation confessed to have participated in five other kidnapping incidents.

Umar further disclosed that the Suspect’s further confession led to the rescue of the kidnapped staff and their family members.

The Commissioner further noted that, the suspect used proceed of his nefarious activities to buy the house demolished by the government on Friday night at Nakagbe area of Minna.

He reteriated the commitment of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to protect all lives and properties and rid the state of all criminal activities.

“The State Government will not allow the State to be a safe haven for kidnappers, bandits or any criminal ” he said.

Emmanuel also encourage the people to always be vigilant and report to security agencies any suspicious activities around their communities adding that such information will be treated with  utmost confidentiality.
