Hezekiah Dimka organises entrepreneurial training for women, youths in Plateau

The Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District at the red chamber, Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka has organised training for women and youth on livestock, potato, and rice production and processing.

He said the aim of the training is to execute his electioneering campaign promises to the good people of Plateau central zone and to appreciate them for the overwhelming support accorded to him as their Senator.

Sen. Dimka said after acquiring skills at the end of the training, grants will be provided to all beneficiaries in order to enable them startup businesses for themselves which will help them contribute meaningfully to the economy.

“I believed that this training would give a fresh start and improve the economic status of the people in Plateau and the country at large.

The training aims to ensure that youth and women within the zone acquire skills for personal development as well as effective functioning which can help them take ownership of their lives.

The Senator added that skills acquisition and empowerment reduces unemployment, poverty, drug and substance abuse thereby ensuring a safe, healthy and prosperous society.

The Senator appointed 117 special aids selected from the 5 LGAs of Plateau Central Senatorial District, a move he claimed will help reduce, if not eliminate poverty/unemployment among the youth of Plateau Central Senatorial District.

Furthermore, for youth empowerment, he encourages the youths to apply for permanent and pensionable appointments with federal government agencies, ministries and parastatals including higher institutions where they have since resumed duties.

According to him, the youths should be given a more permanent appointment that would guarantee some levels of financial independence and enable them to carry on even greater responsibilities of taking care of themselves and their dependents.

Dimka expressed satisfaction with the significant, employment of many Plateau State youth into the NDLEA.

The Senator has placed some students on academic scholarship as part of his commitment to encouraging learning among the youths of the central zone.

In the aspect of infrastructure, the lawmaker has apportioned funds for several projects including the provision of potable drinking water across the five Local Government Areas (LGAs), the projects include the construction of motorised solar boreholes in order to alleviate the issues of water scarcity in the communities.
