How bandits gruesomely murdered Katsina Commissioner, Rabe Nasir

Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins on Thursday attacked the house of the Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Rabe Nasir and killed him.

He according to security sources was alone in his house when the assailants attacked him and locked him up in the toilet after killing him. His security man later came to the house and saw blood all over the place and traced the drops to the toilet where he saw the lifeless body of the commissioner.

The late Commissioner, who was a former member of the House of Representatives, was before his promotion an Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Aminu Masari.

Rabe Nasir was born on 1 October, in Mani Local Government Area (LGA), of Katsina State; he attended Government Secondary School, Giwa, Katsina State, graduated from the University of Abuja.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has on Thursday evening charged the law enforcement agencies to embark on a thorough investigation and bring to justice all those behind the gruesome murder of Dr Rabe Nasir.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement titled, “President Buhari condemns Katsina Commissioner’s murder, says killers must be found”.

Buhari who described Rabe’s killing as heinous and condemnable said he is deeply anguished by the tragic killing of the up-and-coming leader who had served his community, state and the nation with utmost diligence.

He extended his condolences to the family saying “My thoughts are with the bereaved family”.
